1 John 4:4
You, dear children, are from the Father and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Some would say that we are ordinary who can do extraordinary things. It is not true. Why? Because only extraordinary people can do extraordinary things.
We can cast out demons, heal people, overcome challenges, carry loads of life, we can fulfill our dreams, and can humbly serve because we are not ordinary. We can do all things because the Father is in with us and He enables us (Philippians 4:13).
He is not just for us, or with us,
He is living in us.
He created us with potentials different from the rest of His creatures. He molded us in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). He breathed His Spirit in us (Genesis 2:7) and made us His dwelling (I John 4:4). So we have His ability.
Come to think, the Father who created us is the King of all kings who is the great "I am" - the alpha and omega, the resurrection of life, the sustainer of our faith, the redeemer, and the overcomer. Yet He lives in us. He is not miles away that we need to shout at Him like others do. He can hear our whisper. He is so near because He is the Emmanuel (Mathew 1:23).
Therefore, we should not look down or dare to have a poor image of ourselves. We are not ordinary. We are somebody. We are not orphans. We have a Father who is living in us and adopted us to be His sons and daughters (John 1:12).
There are no trials or problems,
or evil can crash or defeat us.
or evil can crash or defeat us.
Ponder all the verses below about the Father's dwelling in us. He is not detached. He is our personal Father. He is intimate and not isolated. He lives in us, connects us, fills our emptiness, meets our needs, and cares for us.
He can move heavens and earth
to assure us that we are valued by Him.
to assure us that we are valued by Him.
Of course, it takes faith to see and experience His dwelling. It is more than knowledge. It is practical.
The Scripture says that we can’t see the glory of the Father if we do not believe (John11:40).
Ponder the following verses:
John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth
John 14:20
"In that day you will know that I am in My Father and you in Me, and I in you.
John 17:23
I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.
Romans 8:20
If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of the Father, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Ephesians 3:17-19
so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of the Father.
Colossians 1:27
to whom the Father's willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
I John 3:29
The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
Revelations 3:20
'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will dine with him, and he with Me.
