My Reflections on Planting Passion Fruit: Lessons in Life and Love

By Ianpassion

Passion fruit is a vine-bearing flower plant. It's actually my first time planting this fruit here in Satun, so seeing it bear lots of flowers and fruits made me feel relaxed amidst life's demands.

I owe thanks to my wife who helped me bag its seedlings. Now, this plant not only provides fresh vitamin C, especially for our kids, but also offers good shade during the very hot weather in Thailand.

This fruit once again made me reflect on the love of the Father. I remembered the time when I was pulverizing the hard soil, preparing it for planting. My hands got dirty, and it immediately brought to mind the origin of man.

Only mankind made the hands of the Father muddy, whereas the rest of creation came into being only through His Words. He molded mankind reflecting who He is—a Loving Father—to show how special humanity is to Him and gave us the authority to tend to the garden.

Another realization came as I saw a beautiful passion fruit flower blooming above me—it made me ponder the seasons of life.

This flower gradually changes to a shiny green fruit, eventually ripening to a yellow color. Like this life, we all undergo different seasons, but one thing is certain—there's always a harvest season.
