Train riding is a wonderful experience, especially for our children to try when visiting Thailand.
In the year 2013, we took the first-class sleeping cabin expecting that we could have a good rest. Nittie that time was pregnant with our first child, Nana. It was not a good decision.
After long unrest hours, the railway noised a lot, subsided for some minutes then it came again. Also several times we felt like the train might derail or flip because it waved so much.
Train riding could be a good adventure but not at that moment. Yet we were already in. We had to keep going. What we could do was pray that nothing bad would happen. If an emergency took place, I think only a miracle can save us.
Nonetheless, we safely arrived in Bangkok.
Five years had already passed, and recently we tried again to take a similar sleeping train with our kids from Hatyai railway station to Hua Lamphong railway station, Bangkok.
To our surprise, the train now is totally different from our first ride before. The exterior painting still looks a little faded but the inside was new and fancy. It was not annoying anymore. Airconditioned, and the floor was already covered with carpet. We really had a great time.
As we were experiencing this newness, I was reflecting on this Passage:
"If anyone is in the Son
the new creation has come
The old has gone
the new is here."
(2 Corinthians5:17)
Paul said, "the old has gone and the new is here." When I was pondering about that train ride, how impressive it is now, much better than before, I also reflected on how our Father loves to see our improvement.
No wonder why the old covenant was replaced with a new covenant because He is not pleased to see His children still in the old ways of life, controlled by lots of laws. His desire is to see His children living a new lifestyle culture-free and blessed.
If we already have a relationship with the Son, thus we must be enjoying our progress. The result should be increased not decreased. His promise is a new life, abundant, and not living in curses.
There might be some challenges in the journey, as on our train ride before, but as long as we hold on to Him, living the lifestyle of faith and positive attitude; I am assured we are victorious.
