Our Ducks, Geese, And Native Chickens Farming At Satun, Thailand

By Ianpassion

"Once in your life, you may need a lawyer, a doctor, and a policeman. But in a day, at least three times a day you need a farmer." Said by my father when I was 16.

Coming from a background of farmers, with lots of animals to care of, and how hard it was to be working under rainy and sunny weather; there was this thinking that time that farming is not my future path.

Therefore, after I finished high school, I pursued a career that had no connection with soil, animals, and plants.

However, throughout my university life and up to nowadays, three things that I used to hate, but now I love. I have realized the purpose and meaning of what I went through. The Lord Abba had opened my eyes as I read Genesis 12:1-3:

“Go from your homeland, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.
“I will make you into a great nation,

    and I will bless you; I will make your name great,

 and you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you,

    and whoever curses you I will curse;

and all peoples on earth

    will be blessed through you

Later on Abraham's life, I found that what was prophesied unto him and as he obeyed the call was fulfilled. He began prospering, owning farms and livestock. He was blessed so He could bless others (read Genesis chapter 13, 24, and 26).

I think farming is the first occupation in human civilization. Our forefathers (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) were all farmers. They handed to their generation and to our generation today this livelihood, not only FAITH but also their passion and character.

And like these people in the past, I wanted to continue what they had started and use whatever resources I have to bless others, especially my family and my community.

Below are some pictures of my livestock farming:
