One of my friends told me that they don't celebrate birthdays in their culture. So I asked the reason, he said it is not important. What is important is life after death.
Wow!
It is amazing that in some culture birthday is not special at all. This practice was developed perhaps from their belief system. But whatever it is, I appreciate their strong strand about eternity, which each one of us should reflect on.
It has been always my realization that life is a gift. Every day is a gift. We thank the Giver of life that we can still get up from our bed, go to work, and enjoy our time with our loved ones and friends.
I thank those who have been involved in my life, relatives, and friends, who have shared his or her time and resources. May God will continue to bless you richly.
I also apologize to those I hurt by my choices, actions, and words.
I thank my parents who had brought me into this world, taught me about The Abba Father, modeled how to forgive and serve. I remembered walking in the dark, holding coconut dried leaves as our torch following my parents to visit a sick friend. If the wind blows our torch then some flaming ashes fell on us. But we kept going.
It is said in His Word, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation..." (Isaiah 52:7)
